Rachel Pryse

Trainer

Rachel is from Belleville, Illinois. She served in the Active Duty Army from 2010 until 2013 and is currently serving in the United States Reserves. She is a graduate of Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville with her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health.  Rachel is married to an Army Veteran who served as a Combat Veteran for over 16 years. Rachel was first exposed to CrossFit during her time at Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 2011.  She trained with a Level one trainer who happened to be her first line supervisor at the time. Rachel played softball, basketball, volleyball, and ran track in grade school and Junior High, but strayed away from sports during High School when she took interest in theater and the arts. Rachel struggled with physical fitness during her time as an Active Duty soldier with metabolic conditioning and bodyweight movements. After Rachel gave birth to her daughter Gwen she had enough with struggling on physical training tests at her Army Unit. She started boot camp at a globo gym and after a year of developing the discipline to train 4-5 times per week she decided to look for a CrossFit Gym. Rachel walked into CrossFit Voyage in August 2016. Rachel knew CrossFit Voyage was the place for her when she was constantly challenged and encouraged to be better every day. She knew that with the coaches’ guidance and the programming if she was consistent she would start achieving her goals. She is now working on climbing up the ladder in the Health Education field at BJC as well as motivating others to be healthy and happy. Rachel earned her CrossFit Level 1 certification in 2017.
